How to make Fish Moliee
Fish molie is a famous dish in Kerala.It is mainly served with palappams.
Ingredients:
Fish-1/2 kg
Onion -2 big sliced
Tomato-2 small
Ginger - 3 tbsp
Garlic - 1.5 tbsp
Green chillies-4
Curry leaves - as required
Turmeric pdr-1/2tsp
Coriander pdr -1/2 tsp
Pepper pdr -1tsp
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Lemon juice -1/2 lemon
Cashew nut -10
Thin coconut milk -1 1/2 cups
Thick coconut milk -1/2 cup
Coconut oil-6tbsp
Mustard seeds-as required
Fenugreek seeds-as required
salt - as required
1. Marinate the fish pieces with 1/4 tsp turmeric pdr,1/2 tsp pepper pdr,juice of 1/2 lemon and salt for 15-20 min.
2.Soak cashewnut in water
3.Shallow fry the fish pieces
4.Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.Saute onion,ginger ,garlic,greenchillies and curry leaves.Add salt as required.Add 1/4 tsp turmeric pdr,1/2 tsp coriander pdr ,1/2 tsp pepper pdr and fry until oil separates.Add the thin coconut milk .When it starts boiling add the fish pieces and tomatoes.Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 min.Stir in between. Grind the cashewnut with water into a paste. Add the garam masala. Add the cashewnut paste to the fish and cook for another 1 min.Finally add the thick coconut milk and mix.Switch off the flame.Serve after 10 min.
